Job Description

The Wells Solar Service Department is seeking to fill several positions for Solar Field Service Technicians. This position reports to the Service Manager and is responsible for performing maintenance, system commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining our customers’ solar assets.

A strong foundation in electrical installation, solar electrical systems, and customer service is required. This key position is responsible for managing time and resources so that service customers are serviced promptly and effectively. Responsibilities include electrical troubleshooting, RMA work, adherence to safety procedures, process improvement and innovation, system monitoring troubleshooting, and set-up.

This position is 90% traveling throughout assigned territory and returning to the main office each day. The candidate will also lead efforts for safe working practices. In the event an overnight stay is required, the company will provide accommodations. Must have a desire to work with a company that is growing and expanding Services across Texas. Currently, this is a position working remotely but reporting to the office may be required.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance; troubleshoot, monitoring, workmanship and technical software use. RMA work, and services on residential PV systems.
  • Work with Construction and Quality Control to commission and maintain all residential PV systems
  • Respond to customer and company maintenance demands and shift priorities as required
  • Communicate using phone, text and email to clients, personnel, vendors, and internal employees
  • Collect data and create reports for appropriate company personnel and update CRM
  • Create estimate of time and materials to perform tasks and request material in a timely manner
  • Maintain Service vehicle so that it is always clean, presentable, stocked and safe
  • Maintain company assigned tools, safety gear and other job-related tools
  • Attend training sessions from internal and external resources
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician. (preferred)
  • NABCEP certified (preferred)
  • Must have a clean driving record and a valid drivers license
  • Familiar with Solar Edge and Enphase
  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs and work on roofs and elevated surfaces
  • Excellent customer service and phone skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Exercises a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude
  • 2+ years residential/commercial PV system installation
  • Ability to innovate and improve operations and solve complex issues
  • Thrive in a team environment
  • High integrity, IQ and energy a must
  • Climb to heights, work on rooftops and conduct work with proper safety

Job Description

The Wells Solar Design Department is seeking to fill several positions for Site Surveyors in the DFW and Central Texas area. The perfect candidate has prior “hands on” installation knowledge and is looking to build on and expand their development to residential and commercial design and layouts. Candidates should have 1-3 years practical experience installing solar, knowledge of electrical components, local codes and computer knowledge.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for those individuals wanting to expand their career within the solar industry. Our designers are trained and certified with Remote Pilot Certification. Training and advancement available for the proper candidates.

We are a small team that gets the job done, the ideal candidate must be able to work independently and in a group and virtual setting.

Job Requirements

  • Travel to project sites to obtain necessary information to complete technical design documents for a solar system
  • Create a rooftop map for solar arrays including roof layout dimensions and all roof penetrations (pipes, vents, etc)
  • Develop a relationship with customers to establish rapport and to gather facilities assessment data as needed
  • Conduct a physical site audit using auditing tools including a tablet/phone with apps and measuring devices
  • Upload site audit as needed to coordinate with the design department to produce permit-ready documents within 24 hours.
  • Follow operating procedures for site audit to ensure a smooth handoff between departments
  • Provide and maintain a current driver’s license and a clean driving record to safely operate a company vehicle.
  • Develop relationships with sales team, design professionals and subcontractors to support the business activities
  • Gather detailed structural data on multiple types of buildings
  • Identifies and documents any issues and or obstructions that may effect design and production of proposed system
  • Gathers all electric data required by the company, including detailed photographs to support findings
  • Perform other duties as necessary

  • Solar installation experience is preferred
  • High School, GED or Trade School degree in a discipline related to construction or solar required

  • Must be physically able to work on roofs, attics and lift 50 lbs. on occasions
  • Must have a valid state drivers license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to travel to different offices if needed
  • Must be able to follow safety procedures required by the company

Job Description

We are seraching for an electrician to build, direct and oversee the electrical portions of the installation including wiring, grounding, interconnection. Electricians will maintain a state certification in the field of Electrical Wireman or higher. You can expect to install and direct the work of all electrical portions of a solar PV system; either roof or ground-mounted.

Job Duties

  • Lead the installation of electrical systems that interconnect our solar array to the grid power of our customers’ residential properties
  • Complete service panel upgrades and service rebuilds
  • Complete AC and DC electrical runs
  • Ability to precisely bend and install conduit
  • Work with electrical manager to read and understand blueprints
  • Test system components while system is operating
  • Make field changes and communicate with project managers
  • Communicate with inspectors and utility companies
  • Enforce and maintain company safety policies and OSHA standards
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times

Job Requirements

  • PROOF of Valid Wireman or Journeyman license REQUIRED
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
  • NABCEP certification (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local criteria
  • Assist with completion of the installation documentation
  • Ability to understand all project plans and specifications
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Travel possible 1-4hrs a day returning to Austin each day
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, inspectors and co-workers
